Answering your questions regarding the thyroid
The thyroid gland is a small butterfly shaped gland found at the base of the neck, just
below the adam’s apple.(Larnyx) The thyroid gland is part of a system called the Endocrine
system. The thyroid gland plays a major role in the way the body functions and operates. It
does this by producing certain hormones that regulate the way every single cell in the body
operates.
The thyroid gland produces and regulates its hormones according to your body;s needs. If
your body is under stress due to illness , pregnancy or immune vulnerability, the thyroid
gland produces more hormones enough to respond to these needs. The thyroid gland produces
hormones that regulate the body’s metabolism, growth and development. It plays a role in
controlling heart, muscle and digestive function, brain development and bone maintenance as
well as the body’s temperature. All of the cells in your body need energy to function.
When your thyroid is not working properly, it affects and impacts your entire bodily
functions.
