Thyroid disease as an endocrine disorder remains to be a very foreign concept in Kenya and Africa
as a whole. This aspect seems to have escaped the radar of mainstream medical health care
systems in many African countries, and this has led to a lot of misdiagnosis , mis advice,
mistreatment, and loss of life. In the recent past , we have lost many patients to thyroid
disease as a result of misdiagnosis, mis advice and mis treatment.
As a leading authority in thyroid health, we fill this gap by supporting, promoting, and working
with other stakeholders and duty-bearers to advance knowledge and translate discoveries about
thyroid disorders and their complications into practical solutions that make everyday life
better for people living with are at risk of thyroid disease. The Thyroid Disease Awareness Kenya
